In my series “how to save the battery of your wireless mouse” we reviewed how to create a new tab in a unique browser window (Ctrl+T), and how to navigate through your opened tabs (Ctrl+Tab, Ctrl+#Number…).

Today, I’m going to tell you how to close a tab without closing the whole window.

Yes, I know you could easily take your mouse and click on the little cross that you can see on the right of each tab. But what if you want to do it from your keyboard? Now that you are aware or trying to get used to more keyboard shortcuts, you want to learn more, don’t you?

Well, closing the current opened tab is very easy:

- Hold the “ Ctrl ” button and then press “ W ”.

The current tab is supposed to be closing and the tab on its right is supposed to show up. (Unless it is the last tab on the right and assuming that you have several tabs opened)

That’s it for today, but I’ll be back soon with more keyboard shortcuts for you.

Do you have any shortcuts to share? Try this one and leave a comment to let us know! And if you like it, share it with your friends!
