You can now compare your stats with old data:
Date Range

Compare to Past

It also gives real time data. You can see how many visitors came to your website for the current day. It used to take 24 hours for Google to update the data.

Google Chrome – better than firefox or internet explorer?

This will be the new hype for the next little while. Google is launching its own browser. It is called Google Chrome. They will launch it tomorrow so I can’t give you any feedback on it yet but it will be an open source browser which means anyone can download it for free. Personally, I use firefox because I love all the plugins they offer, especially for SEO and I don’t think I’ll switch exclusively to Google Chrome, but after reading Google Chrome’s comic book, explaining how Google chrome differs from other browser, I will definitely give it a test ride.

New Google Tool

Google launched a new tool to increase even more the possibilities of Search Engines Results Pages (SERPs). It is called Google Insights for Search
“With Google Insights for Search, you can compare search volume patterns across specific regions, categories, and time frames.”

  • Compare the number of searches 2 or more keywords over a period of time, by geographical area or by category
  • Look at the Rising searches (most popular searches)
  • Combine all those factors to see the rising searches or the related searches for a specific category at a specific time and a specific location.

Vanessa Fox talking about Page Rank and Sitemaps

Very Informative and a “myth killer”

Vanessa fox Google’s interview

She basically says that people worry way too much about PR. (PR=Page Rank)

She talks about the differences between a link coming from a high PR website versus a link coming from a low PR but with relevancy.

In the end, it’s all about the users, not the search engines.
