The Ski Jumper Simon Ammann, from Switzerland ! A gold medal won thanks to a huge 108 meters jump. No Finns and no Germans on the podium in spite of the results of the 1st round.
Poland won the silver medal and Austria the bronze one. Great start for European countries 
In fact, the Ski Jumping 1st round started earlier today. Unfortunately, the 4 Canadians didn’t make it for the next round.
France still have a chance to win a medal with 3 athletes qualified out of 4, but it will be hard to compete with the Germans, Finns, Czechoslovaks, Austrians or Japaneses..
For now, Germany has the lead with 2 men on the podium, but we’ll know tomorrow who is the first Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games’ Champion.
